Düşme ve Düşmelere Bağlı Yaralanmaların Azaltılması için Kanıt Temelli Uygulama Önerileri

Abstract

Düşme, bir kişinin ansızın, istemeden zemin ya da başka bir alt seviyeye gelmesiyle oluşan olaydır. Düşmeler, global olarak önemli bir halk sağlığı sorunudur. Dünya Sağlık Örgütü, düşmeleri önlemek için daha güvenli çevre oluşturulmasını, birey ve toplumun eğitimini, düşme ile ilgili araştırmaların arttırılmasını ve riski azaltmak için uygun politikalar oluşturulmasını önermektedir. Düşmeler ve düşmeye bağlı yaralanmalar sağlık kurumlarında da son derece problem yaratan unsurlardır. Hastanede yatışlarda %84’ün üzerinde düşme ile ilişkili olaylar yaşanıyor olup, bu düşmelerin %32’si yaralanmaya neden olmakta, %4-6’ü ciddi yaralanmalar (kırık, subdural hematom) ve ölümle sonuçlanmaktadır. Hastanelerde sıklıkla yaşlı bireylerde düşme oranları fazla olsa da özellikle yoğun bakım, onkoloji ve dahili birimlerindeki genç bireylerde yüksek risk grubundadır. Hemşireler, sağlık bakımında hasta düşmelerinin önlenmesi ve yaralanmaların azaltılmasında önemli role sahiptirler. Düşmelerin önlenmesi ve düşmelere bağlı yaralanma oranlarının azaltılması için evrensel güvenlik önlemleri, kurum politikalarının geliştirilmesi, hemşirelik tanılama/değerlendirme ve bakım yaklaşımlarının uygulanması ile yapılmaktadır. Kanıt temelli uygulamalar, bilimsel veriler ışığında verilen bakım ile hasta bakım standartlarını yükseltmektedir.
Bu makalede, düşmelerin önlenmesi ve düşmelere bağlı yaralanmaların azaltılması için güncel kanıt temelli uygulama önerileri okuyucularla paylaşılacaktır.
