Abstract

Curcumin (diferuloylmethane), has been used in alternative medicine for anticancer therapies mainly in Asian countries especially in China. In recent years such evidence suggested that curcumin comprise anti-tumoral natures against some of cancers. Nonetheless, it was little known its anti-tumoral effects and molecular mechanism on endometrial carcinoma. The purpose of this research evaluating anti-tumoral effects of curcumin in endometrial cancer cell lines of Ishikawa. We incubated the Ishikawa cell lines with curcumin at 10, 20, 40, 80 and 100 μM concentrates. We evaluated apoptosis and caspase 3/7 values and cell viability after 24, 48 and 72 hours of incubation. It was found that curcumin inhibited Ishikawa cell viability in vitro. Also, treatment with curcumin for 48 hours, at 10 and 20 μM concentrations apoptosis were highest but 100μM concentrations it was observed that cells were going necrosis instead of apoptosis. On the other hand caspase 3/7 enzymes results were the highest at 80 μM concentration of curcumin. We think that curcumin affects different apoptotic pathways in the Ishikawa cell line.

Kurkuminin Ishikawa Hücre Hattında Canlılık ve Apoptoz Üzerindeki Etkileri
