In this study,we compared the effects of different hormon replacement therapy(HRT) methods on(Conjugated equine
estrogen+Medroxyprogesteron acetate vs. tibolon) natural menopause patients who admitted to obstetrics and
gynecology clinic of izmir Atatürk Education and Research Hospital.
In order to evaluate the systolic function we used echocardioraphy before starting HRT. Initial data were compared after
echocardioraphic findings of three months later.
No significant difference was found in EF(Ejection Fraction) values in CEE group (p>0.05), A statistically significant
increase was observed in ejection fraction only in tibolon group.
At the end of our study, a mild increase was found in echocardiographic parameters in response to different HRT
methods.lncerase in left ventricular filling is the most important of HRT effects on the heart. This mild effect may not result
in a prominent clinical improvement because of the short duration of our study. But, we believe that the clinical
improvement might be more evident when long -term therapies are used.ln spite of our findings new randomized
prospective studies are needed in order to evaluate cardioprotective effects of HRT.
