Applications of Lasers in Otology

Öz

The use of laser applications in otorhinolaringology
has undergone significant advances over the past 30 years. Laser technologyis
now used in a wide variety of procedures, and has become the primary treatment modality
or standard of care for many otorhinolaringology conditions. Applications of lasers
in otology are limited but effective. Laser
in the otology field was used to perform tympanotomy and for the placement of ventilation
tubes, adhesion in the eardrum, remobilisations and ossicular modelings, removel
of cholesteatoma matrix, removal of vascular tumors, and surgery of the otosclerosis.
Owing to efficiency and safety profile of laser technology, lasers was become multipurpose
instrument in Otology.

Otolojide Lazer Kullanımı

Öz

Kulak Burun Boğaz (KBB) alanında son 30 yılda
lazer kullanımında önemli ilerlemeler olmuştur. Lazerler, günümüzde yaygın
olarak kullanılmakta ve KBB alanında birçok durumda primer tedavi veya standart
tedavi haline gelmiştir. Otolojide lazer uygulamaları sınırlı olmasına karşın
etkin bir şekilde kullanılmaktadır. Otoloji alanında lazerler timpanotomi ve
kulak zarına ventilasyon tüpü uygulamasında, kulak zarındaki adezyonlarda,
kemikçik zinciri mobilizasyonu ve remodelinginde, kolesteatoma matriksinin
uzaklaştırılmasında, vasküler tümörlerin tedavisinde ve otoskleroz tedavisinde
kullanılmaktadır. Lazer teknolojisinin etkili ve güvenilir profili sayesinde lazerler,
otolojide çok amaçlı ve çok yönlü bir enstrüman haline gelmiştir.
