Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

All manuscripts submitted to the journal are scanned with the iThenticate plagiarism prevention program. Atlas University Journal of Medicine and Health Sciences adheres to the highest standards of publication ethics and adopts international principles. All parties in the publication process (Editor, Reviewer, Author and Publisher) are expected to abide by these principles without exception. Manuscripts with a iThenticate citation rate of more than 20% are not accepted. Atlas University Journal of Medicine and Health Sciences accepts the standards of World Medical Association (WMA) Declaration of Helsinki – Ethical Principles for Medical Research Involving Human Subjects (2013) and WMA Statement on Animal Use in Biomedical Research (2016) and adopts ethical standards as a principle. For clinical and experimental studies, drug trials and some case reports, an Ethics Committee report in accordance with the above-mentioned international standards is required. The name and approval number of the ethics committee should be clearly stated in the manuscript. If deemed necessary, the Ethics Committee report or an equivalent official letter may be requested from the authors. In manuscripts reporting the results of experimental studies on humans, after fully explaining the nature of the procedures applied to the subjects of the study, a statement that their consent has been obtained should be included in the text. In the case of studies on animals, what has been done to avoid pain, suffering and discomfort should be clearly stated in the article. It is the authors' responsibility to protect the confidentiality of patients' identities. For photographs that may reveal the identity of the patients, signed permission from the patients or their legal representatives must also be submitted.

Publication Policy


The Editor or Editorial Board Member has the authority not to publish manuscripts that do not comply with the rules and editorial policies of the journal, to send them back to the author(s) for correction, to edit them in format or to reject them. The Editor or Editorial Board Member may send the manuscript to the consultant(s) for review. The request for correction from the author does not guarantee that the manuscript will be published. The ethical, scientific and legal responsibility of the articles published in the journal belongs to the author(s). The manuscript material will not be returned to the authors, whether or not it is accepted for publication in the journal. No royalties are paid for the articles published in the journal.
