Abstract
The life span of individuals is growing dramatically all around the world as well as in Turkey. Accordingly the emergency treatments the geriatric patients need is increasing as well. Although the emergency treatments geriatric patients need is relatively low in respect to the younger adults the dental professional has to know the variances in treatment plans of the older group of patients, too.

Abstract
Dünyadaki ve ülkemizdeki insanların ortalama yaşam sürelerinin artmasıyla yaşlı bireylerde ileri yaşa bağlı olarak acil müdahale gerektiren dental sorunların görülme sıklığı da artmaktadır. Bu sorunların görülme sıklığı genç bireylere göre daha azdır. Ancak söz konusu olduğunda yaşlı bireylerde genç bireylere göre ne gibi farklılıklar olabileceği konusunda hekimin bilgi ve tecrübesi olması gerekir.
