General point of view of the university students on computer usage in context of personal health

Abstract

Introduction: The aim of this study is to evaluate the effects of the computer usage in public health by using the student comments. Material and method: The survey that contains social and demografic parameters and 10 questions, was performed on 254 students attending to Ataturk Medical Technology Vocational Training School, Ege University during period of 2004-2006. The questionnaire clarifying the subject, contains 10 questions was based on structural validity for the factor analysis and Cronbach alpha quotients for the internal coherence. Results: Cronbach alpha quotients for the internal coherence was changed between 0.57- 0.63 for each subgroups for the questonnaire containing 10 questions for to explain the subjects. For the common reliability the quotients for the questonnaire containing 10 questions was 0.78 as the Cronbach alpha value.The different thoughts between the female and male students were noted for the effects of the computer usage on the body health (p
