Myocardial protection and surgical treatment in total occlusion of left main coronary artery

Abstract

Total occlusion of the left main coronary artery is rare. As acute occlusion usually takes a fatal course and there are very few clinical reports on this entity. In this paper, we report on a patient successfully treated with surgical therapy and myocardial protection for a total occluded left main coronary artery found through an elective coronary angiography.
