Türk İçecek Resim Setinin Geçerliği ve Standardizasyonu: Bilişsel Yanlılık Ölçümü ve Modifikasyon Paradigmaları İçin Kontrollü Resim Seti

Year 2023, , 1 - 11, 15.03.2023
https://doi.org/10.19161/etd.1205014

Abstract

Validation of the Turkish Beverage Picture Set: A Controlled Picture Set for Cognitive Measurement and Cognitive Bias Modification Paradigms

Year 2023, , 1 - 11, 15.03.2023

Abstract

Aim: In this study, a valid and standard Turkish Beverage Picture Set have been generated for using in alcohol cognitive bias measurement and cognitive bias modification research.
Materials and Methods: Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages were photographed in 3 passive (full- bottle, bottle with empty glass, bottle with full glass) and 3 active (drinking, opening, serving) context. Consequently, Alcohol Use Identification Test, recognition and likert experiments were applied to 120 university students.
Results: Turkish Beverage Picture Set was recognized easily and all beverages were familiar to the population. Alcoholic beverage images aroused greater urge to drink in heavy drinkers compared to light drinkers. Also, images which were presented in passive context were recognized faster than the active context images.
Conclusion: Turkish Beverage Picture Set can be used in various experimental paradigms to investigate implicit cognitive process in alcohol addiction.
