Abstract
The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between colon cancer and dermatoglyphics. Therefore, fingerprints and palm prints from 27 cases vith histologically proven colon cancer were compared to fingerprints and palms from 50 controls with no history of any malignant disease. On the fingertips of colon cancer cases, whorl types, total finger ridge count of male patients, were more then those of the control cases. Palmar III loops and t triradii were less, palmar H loops and palmar a-b ridge count of male patients were more. Furthermore, the frequency of the ending of the palmar A line of patients in 5" was more than controls. İn this report it was found that the values of both fingertips and palm patterns were clearly significant. in patients vith colon cancer. İt is concluded that the dermatoglyphic analysis will contribute to the genetic studies performed in colon cancer because of its easy applıcability without causing trauma to the patient, rapid results and low cost.
Abstract
Bu çalışmanın amacı, kolon kanseri ve dermatoglifikler arasındaki ilişkiyi araştırmaktır. Bunun için, kolon kanseri olan 27 olgunun parmak izleri ve avuç içi izleri herhangi bir hastalığı olmayan 50 kontrol olgusu ile karşılaştırıldı. Kolon kanserli olguların el parmak uçlarında düğüm tipleri, erkek hastaların toplam çizgi sayısı kontrollere göre daha fazla, palmar III ilmeği ve t triradiusu daha az, palmar H ilmeği ve erkek hastaların palmar a-b çizgi sayısı daha fazladır. Ayrıca, A temel çizgisinin 5"noktasında sonlanma sıklığının kontrollere göre fazla olduğu görüldü. Çalışmamızda kolon kanserli hastalarda parmak uçları ve avuç içi örnekleri anlamlı bulundu. Dermatoglifik analizlerin hastalarda travma olmaksızın uygulama kolaylığı, hızlı ve ucuz oluşu kolon kanseri ile yapılacak genetik çalışmalara katkıda bulunacağı sonucuna varıldı.
