Abstract
Etyolojisi ne olursa olsun, astma patogenezinde önemli rol oynayan eozinofillerden açığa çıkan eozinofil katyonik proteinin hava yolu inflamasyonu ve epitel hasarında etkin rolü olduğu gösterilmiştir. Bu çalışmada, akut astma atağı ile acil servise başvuran hastalarda atak sırasında ve ataktan 1 hafta sonrasına kadar olan sürede eozinofil katyonik protein seviyelerindeki değişimi ve bu değişimin klinik bulgular ile olan uyumunu araştırılmıştır. Çalışmaya, akut astma atağı ile acil servise başvuran 32 hasta ve kontrol grubu olarak 32 sağlıklı gönüllü dahil edilmiştir. Hastalarda başvuru anında, atağın 24. saatinde ve 1. haftasında serum eozinofil katyonik protein seviyeleri ölçüldü. It has been shown that eosinophilic cationic protein derived from eosinophils, has an important role in the pathogenesis of airway inflammation and epithelial damage in any type of asthma The aim of this study was to investigate both the serum levels of eosinophilic cationic protein and possible relationship betvveen serum eosinophilic cationic protein levels and clinical activity in patients with acute asthma attack. Eosinophilic cationic protein levels were measured in sera of 32 patients and of 32 age and gender matched healthy volunteers during acute attack, 24 hours and 7 days after attack.
