BRACHIAL PLEXUS COMPRESSION DUE TO SUBCLAVIAN ARTERIAL ANEURYSM: A CASE REPORT

Abstract

The aneurysms at the thoracic outlet are usually secondary to blunt trauma. Most of them occur as a result of penetrating injury and occasionally due to atherosclerosis. Rarely these factors can cause pseudoaneurysms. In this study, we are presented a patient with brachial plexus compression due to a late diagnosis of left subclavian aneurysm. We resected the aneurysm and ensured the arterial continuity with saphenous vein interpositioning. The patient was discharged with recovery. Because of subclavian artery aneurysm can cause serious complications, vascular surgeons must perform the operations as early as possible.
