CEREBRAL HEMORRHAGES SEEN IN GAZI UNIVERSITY MEDICAL FACULTY BETVVEEN 1989 AND 1998

Abstract

Primary ıntracerebral hemorrhages are the leading cause of nontravmatic hemoırhages that are seen in adults. Arterial hypertension, aneurismal rupture, and cerebral amyloid angiopathies are the frequent causes of cerebral hemorrhage. The most frequent cause is the arterial rupture in the hypertensive background. They are mostly seen in order of sequence in putamen, capsule interna, temporal, frontal, parietal white matter, thalamus, cerebellar hemispheres, and in pons. 50 patients between April 1989 and December 1998 who admitted Gazi University Medical Faculty because ol ıntracerebral hemorrhage are included in this study. The causes, localisation, the percentage of operation and mortality rates are discussed.
