THICKNESS MAP OF PARIETAL BONE IN MALE AND FEMALE TURK ADULTS A MORPHOMETRIC STUDY

Abstract

This study was carried out on a total of 100 parietal bone specimens from 50 cranium (25 male and 25 female specimens) obtained from the collection at the Anatomy Department of the Adnan Menderes University (ADÜ). Constructing a thickness map of parietal bone was aimed in the present study because the parietal bone is widely used donor site for a bone graft in the cranial and maxillo-facial reconstructive surgery. Parietal bone thickness was measured at each of 15 points on the parietal bone, using Mitutoyo caliper gauge. Significant differences between the measurements of parietal bone thickness were calculated in both male and female specimens, depending on the point of the measurement. were notedin the measurements of parietal bone thickness. The thickest point of the measurement on right and left sides bone thickness. The thickest point of the measurement on both sides was B2 in male specimens (right B2 6.57 mm, left B2 6.75 mm) and it was A3 in female specimens (right A3 6.39 mm, left A3 6.92 mm). The points that were thicker than 6.00 mm in male specimens were A2, A3, A4, B2, B3 on the right side and A2, A3, A4, B2, B3, C3 on the left side. YETİŞKİN TÜRK ERKEK VE KADINLARINDA OS PARIETALE'NİN KALINLIK HARİTASI MORFOMETRİK BİR ÇALIŞMA

Öz

Bu çalışma, Adnan Menderes Üniversitesi (ADÜ) Tıp Fakültesi Anatomi Anabilim Dalı kemik arşivlerinde bulunan 25 kadın ve 25 erkek toplam 50 kraniuma ait 100 adet os parietale üzerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Os parietale'nin maksillofasial ve kranial cerrahi rekonstrüksiyon işlemlerinde en yaygın olarak kullanılan bir kemik dönor alanı olması nedeniyle, kraniumun bu parçasına ait kalınlık haritasının çıkarılması amaçlanmıştır. Her bir os parietale üzerinde işaretlenen 15 noktada Mitutoyo otomatik çap ölçer aleti kullanılarak kalınlık ölçümü yapılmıştır. Os parietale'ye ait kalınlık ölçüm değerleri, hem erkek ve hem kadın cinsiyette ölçüm yapılan noktalara göre önemli farklılıklar göstermiştir. Erkeklerde sağ ve sol os parietale'de en kalın nokta B2 noktasıdır (sağ B2 6.57 mm, sol B2 6.75 mm), kadınlarda sağ ve sol os parietale'de kemiklerde en kalın nokta A3 noktasıdır (sağ A3 6.39 mm, sol A3 6.92 mm). Erkeklerde 6.00 mm'den kalın noktalar sağ tarafta A2, A3, A4, B2, B3 ve sol tarafta A2, A3, A4, B2, B3, C3 noktalarıdır. Kadınlarda 600 mm'den kalın noktalar sağ tarafta A3, B2, B3, C2 ve sol tarafta A3, B2, B3, C3 noktalarıdır. Erkeklerde ve kadınlarda aynı taraftaki noktaların kendi aralarında ayrı ayrı birbirleri ile karşılaştırılmasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmuştur (p0.05). Böylece, yapılan çalışmanın os parietale'nin donor yeri olarak kullanıldığı bazı klinik uygulamalara ışık tutacağı sonucuna varılmıştır.
