IS THERE ANY RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN C-ERBB-2 EXPRESSION AND OTHERS PROGNOSTIC FACTORS IN BREAST CANCER ?

Abstract

C-erbB-2 gene is frequently over expressed in human breast cancer. Many studies have demonstrated that C-erbB-2 over expression is an independent negative prognostic factor in node-positive breast cancer patients. In this study, CerbB- 2 expression and its relationship with other prognostic factors were investigated in 134 breast cancer patients. The significant relationship betıveen C-erbB-2 and axillary lymph nodes involvement, ER, PR, P53, age, tumor size, metastasis status could not be shown. But statically significant relationship betWeen C-erbB2 over expression and lymph node GATO formation is shown. İn a result, C-erbB2 over expression could be a prognostic factor in breast cancer.
