OSTEOID OSTEOMA OF THE CERVİCAL SPINE : A case report

Abstract

In this report a 23 years - old female with an osteoid ostema in fifth cervical vertebra is presented. The patient's main complaint was neck pain. Plain radiography showed no abnormality. Bone scan showed increased activity in the left pedicul of C5. These findings were believed to be consistent with the diagnosis of osteoid osteoma . The lesion could be excised completely. Microscopic examinations revealed an osteoid osteoma. The unusual location of the lesion and the role of various diagnostics modalities are discussed and the literature reviewed.
