Acute abdominal surgery in a somnolence patient; Don't let it be!

Abstract

Organophosphates are extensively used in agriculturally developed and developing countries. Intoxication with organophosphate is characterised by the clinical picture of an acute cholinergic crisis in the autonomic, somatic and central nervous systems. After an appendectomy surgery, and during careful questioning, organophosphate intoxication was diagnosed. The presentation of this case is to emphasize the possibility of intoxication in a patient with somnolence and who was to undergo an acute abdomen operation.
