Mature cystic teratoma is the most common germ cell tumor of the ovary that generally occurs during reproductive period. Although mature cystic teratoma is a benign tumor, rarely (1-2%) it may show malignant transformation and it is usually observed in older ages. Squamous cell carcinoma is the most common malignant transformation (70-80%). Mature cystic teratoma with malignant transformation may show dissemination by peritoneal seeding or local invasion to the adjacent organs and presents with clinical symptoms of the affected organs.
