A case report of neutropenia caused by piperacillin/tazobactam

Abstract

Piperacillin/tazobactam (PT) is a beta lactam antibiotic which may rarely cause bone-marrow supprresion. In this article, a case with fever, deep thrombocytopenia and neutropenia thought to be due to bone-marrow suppression on the sixteenth day of therapy with PT for the diagnose of soft tissue infection is presented by looking over the similar cases reported from our country.
