PHYSIOLOGY AND NEUROLOGY OF OROPHARYNGEAL SWALLOWING

Abstract

Dysphagia is a symptom complex causing difficulties in disease progress and frequently seen in neurological disorders. To treat dysphagia, first of ali, we try to put forward dysphagia by electrophysiological methods objectively. We can easily obtain this by single bolus analysis and dysphagia limit methods. By this way, not only we achieve etioiogical factors of dysphagia, but also we can get more Information about treatment and prognosis. These type of methods are simple and easily appliable in every EMG labarotories and not taking too much time to apply. In this paper, we present this review including physiology and neurology of oropharyngeal swallowing.
