Abstract
Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate the infections encountered in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of neurosurgery Depertment of Ege University Faculty of Medicine from different aspects including; agents of infections, lenght of stay and rate of mortality. Method:This study was performed between January 2004 and December 2004. Patients who admitted to ICU were daily visited and data collected was recorded in a form. The diagnosis of ICU infections were established according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) criteria. Data were analysed with SPSS 11.0 program. Results: In this period 119 patients (Female: 51, Male: 68 and the mean age were 49.7±22.0)) were investigated for 1733 patient days. Seventy-five infection attacks were observed in 51 patients. The incidence of infection was 63.0/100 and the incidence dansity was 43.2/1000. Urinary tract infections were the most common infection. Abstract
Amaç: Bu çalışmada Ege Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Nöroşirürji Anabilim Dalı Yoğun Bakım Ünitesi (YBÜ)'de gelişen enfeksiyonlar; etken mikroorganizmaları, YBÜ'de yatış süresi, mortalite yönünden değerlendirilmiştir. Yöntem: Çalışma Ocak 2004 ile Aralık 2004 tarihleri arasındaki 12 aylık dönemde yapılmıştır. Bu dönemde YBÜ'de yatan hastaların günlük vizitleri yapılarak elde edilen veriler hazırlanmış olan hasta takip formlarına kaydedilmiştir. Hastane enfeksiyonu tanıları Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)'nin kriterleri esas alınarak konulmuştur. Forma kaydedilen veriler SPSS 10.0 programı ile değerlendirilmiştir. Bulgular: Toplam 119 hasta (68'si erkek, 51'i kadın, yaş ortalamaları 49.7±22.0) 1733 hasta günü takip edilmiştir. Elli bir hastada toplam 75 enfeksiyon atağı gelişmiştir. Kümülatif YBÜ infeksiyon insidansı 63.0/100, insidans dansitesi ise 43.2/1000 olarak bulunmuştur. En sık idrar yolu enfeksiyonu görülmüştür.
