Abstract
Piperacillin/tazobactam (PT) is a beta lactam antibiotic which may rarely cause bone-marrow supprresion. In this article, a case with fever, deep thrombocytopenia and neutropenia thought to be due to bone-marrow suppression on the sixteenth day of therapy with PT for the diagnose of soft tissue infection is presented by looking over the similar cases reported from our country.
Abstract
Piperasilin/tazobaktam (PT), nadiren kemik iliği baskılanmasına neden olabilecek beta laktam grubu bir antibiyotiktir. Bu olgu sunumunda yumuşak doku enfeksiyonu tanısı ile PT almakta iken tedavinin on altıncı gününde ateş, kemik iliği baskılanmasına bağlı olduğu düşünülen derin trombositopeni ve nötropeni gelişen bir olgu, ülkemizden bildirilen benzer olgular gözden geçirilerek sunulmuştur.
