VOICE CHANGES ANALYSIS CRITERIA IN PARKINSON DISEASE

Abstract

Parkinson's disease is a neuro-degenerative motion disorder primarily due to basal ganglia dysfunction. Depending on stages of this disease, different degree of voice and speech dysfunctions may occur. İn this study, 12 patients who are treated in Ege University Faculty Of Medicine, Neurology Department " Parkinson's Disease Clinic" Were involved and laryngeal examinations Were done with voice recording. Voice recordings Were examined by the help of computer analysis methods and results Were compared with normal control group at the same age By the evaluation of obtained data, voice and speech quality examination parameters in Parkinson's disease Were discussed. Especially in advanced stage Parkinson's disease patients, in acoustic parameters and voice quality evaluation, marked differences Were detected When compared with normal control group.
