A CASE OF DISCOID LUPUS ERYTHEMATOSUS TRIGGERED BY PEELING

Abstract

Fifty-eight-year old female patient admitted to our clinic with burning, sensitivity and erythema, oedema and atrophy. She had been treated with 20% and 35% glycolic acid peeling, respectively. After histopatological and immunfluorocence examination, discoid lupus erythematosus was (DLE) confirmed as a diagnosis. This case report revealed that melasma should be considered in differential diagnosis of DLE. Additionally, peeling gents can trigger or increase the DLE lesions.
